Top 7 Bible verses about Evil or Evil Doers (2023)

What are 7 of the best bible verses about evil or evildoers? Which ones would you add that I missed?

what is evil

The Greek word used for evil is 'kakos', meaning what we think it should mean, 'of a bad nature, evil' and is described as 'not doing what should be done'. The Hebrew word is "ra`" and simply means "evil" or "evil" as well as "unsympathetic" because it is for God. Happily, it was "for our sakes he hath made him to be sin that knew no sin, that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Cor5:21) and "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9), so God laid his wrath on the sinless Christ so that we might previously justified to God because of the shed blood of the Lamb of God. Mankind is inherently wicked, but God is inherently holy, so we should be grateful to God for justifying the ungodly and for the ungodly becoming godly in Christ Jesus.

Romans 13:3-4 “For rulers are not a terror for good conduct, but for evil. Wouldn't you be afraid of the one in authority? Then do what is good and you will have His approval, for He is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, fear, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is God's servant, an avenger, exercising God's wrath on the wrongdoer."

The word "wrongdoer" is essentially "wrongdoer" as some translations put it. Who is the Avenger for God? It is those who "shall bear the sword" in God's sovereignty, and those who bear the sword are the police, sheriff's officers, highway patrol, state troopers, the FBI, the IRS, and all others not mentioned, those of local, state, and government agencies to enforce the law, "Therefore one must submit, not only to avoid God's wrath, but also for the sake of conscience... 6b).

proverbs21:15"When justice is done, it is joy to the righteous, but terror to the wicked."

We can sleep better at night knowing that those who carry the sword for God are doing their job. While we sleep or work, God's servants keep us safe, enforce the law, and against the righteous, no wonder we rejoice in their protective work in society. Therefore they are "a terror to evildoers" because they have every reason to be afraid. God sees everything, and even if they get away with criminal activities in this life, they must give an account to Him for every empty word, thought, and deed on the Day of Judgment (Mt 122:36; Rev 20:12-25).

Genesis 6:5 "The Lord saw how great was the wickedness of man on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was ever but evil."

Doesn't that describe our world today? Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of man" (Luke17:26) and just as in the days of Noah "the Lord saw how great was the wickedness of men upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was ever but evil," so it is today. If you look back just 10 years ago... and certainly 20 or 30 or more years ago, you can see in the movies, on TV, and in magazines how evil has grown. Fortunately, God will avenge all wickedness and swiftly bring justice to those who do such things, who refuse to repent and put their trust in Christ.

First Peter4:15"But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as an intruder."

We all suffer the consequences of the fall...and our own sinful choices, but Peter exhorts the church not to suffer from willful, intentional, sinful choices. We reap what we sow, but we often reap much later than after sowing. We are accountable for our deeds, and God will not leave any evil thing we do without consequence...and even a child of God is not uncorrectable "For the Lord disciplines him whom he loves, and disciplines every son (and daughter) who he receives” (Hebrews 12:6).

Lukas13:27"But he'll say, 'I don't know you or where you're from. Away from me, all evildoers!’”

This is perhaps one of the scariest things Jesus ever said. In connection with this chapter, many will think they will be saved, but will learn the most terrible news they will ever hear for all time, and it is something that will haunt them for eternity. Many profess to be Christians, but they don't actually remain in the vine (John 15). They think they are saved but have no fruit to prove they have ever repented and trusted in Christ. They state that they are Christians, but they do not live the lifestyle that shows they are born again. They say they are a good person when the Bible says no one is good (Rom3:12). Let the words of Jesus warn every pretender in Matthew 7:21-23 to get right with God and make sure you have repented (turned from sin and forsaken it) and are trusting in Christ. “Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and work many miracles in your name?” Then I will tell them clearly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

Psalm 34:16 "The face of the LORD is against the evildoers, to blot out their remembrance from the face of the earth."

Imagine that God's face is turned against anyone who does evil. He assures us that he will "cut off the memory of them from the earth" and "they will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, far from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power" (2 Thessalonians 1:9). . “Our iniquities have separated you from your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, that he may not hear” (Isaiah 59:2), but we can be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. That is why the gospel is called the good news.

Proverbs 17:4 “An evildoer listens to evil lips; A liar watches out for a destructive tongue.”

Here is concrete proof that it is not only the gossip that God is against, but the one who listens to "evil lips". Gossip is one of the seven deadly sins listed at Proverbs 6:16-19. That's because it murders someone else's character. It slanders a person's name and reputation, and if there were no one to listen to the gossip, the gossip would be stopped.

When we have repented and trusted in Christ, we have peace with God (Romans 5:1), but God is against all who refuse to bow their knees and forsake their sins and put their faith in Christ. Today is your day of salvation if you are not yet born again (2 Cor 6:2).Morningcan bring swift judgment, for no one knows the day or hour of Christ's return, and therefore when they will face the judgment of Godmorningmay be too late so make today the day you are saved because none of us know whatmorningcan bring.
